Play Ultimate Spider-Man (S) Online
Takes a few tries to stop crashing into buildings, but once you get the hang of it, swinging through New York on the DS just feels right—even if you accidentally web a few bystanders along the way.

Ultimate Spider-Man on the Nintendo DS came out in 2005, published by Activision. It was part of that early wave of DS games that tried to make the most of the dual screens and touch controls, even if not every experiment was a total success. The game follows the comic's "Ultimate" storyline, putting you in the suit during a pretty chaotic time in Peter Parker's life.
You control Spider-Man, swinging through a condensed version of New York, fighting thugs and super villains like Venom and Green Goblin. The main goal is to stop a citywide symbiote invasion, which involves a lot of chasing, brawling, and quick environmental puzzles. Signature mechanics include using the touch screen to perform special web moves and switching between Spider-Man and Venom during certain story beats. The pace is generally fast, though some boss fights can feel repetitive. It captures that weightless, improvisational feel of web swinging surprisingly well on the handheld.
