Game Overview

Virtua Fighter Animation (Brazil) is one of those weird, wonderful SEGA Master System gems that makes you go, "Wait, this exists?" It’s like someone took the serious 3D arcade fighter, threw it in a blender with a Saturday morning cartoon, and somehow made it work. Akira and the gang are here, but they’re all bouncy, exaggerated versions of themselves—think big, flashy punches and kicks that feel more at home in Street Fighter than Virtua Fighter.

The sprites are chunky in that classic 8-bit way, but they’ve got so much personality. Moves are simpler than the arcade, sure, but landing a spinning kick or a perfectly timed throw still feels great. There’s something oddly charming about how Brazil got this bizarre, one-off version of a SEGA classic. If you love digging up obscure retro oddities, this one’s a total trip.
