Game Overview
Virtua Racing was mind-blowing back in '92—one of the first games where cars actually felt like they existed in 3D space instead of just sliding sprites. The Genesis port obviously couldn’t match the arcade cabinet’s smoothness, but it still pulled off those chunky polygons surprisingly well. You’ve got three tracks (beginner, intermediate, expert), and the way your car tilts on banked curves or skids just a little too wide if you floor it never gets old. The AI drivers actually put up a fight, too—no rubber-banding nonsense here. It’s barebones by today’s standards, but you can see why this set the template for every racing game that came after.
