Game Overview

Vroom is a racing game from the MS-DOS era, originally developed by Lankhor and published by Infogrames. It arrived during a time when 3D polygonal graphics were still a novelty on home computers, and it stood out for its attempt to deliver a smooth, fast-paced driving experience on hardware that was often pushed to its limits.

You control a low-polygon race car from a first-person perspective, navigating twisting tracks that demand quick reflexes and precise steering. The main objective is simply to finish each course ahead of any opponents, though the real challenge comes from maintaining control at high speeds. Signature mechanics include gear shifting to optimize acceleration and a physics model that punishes oversteering, often sending you spinning off the asphalt. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving, especially on later tracks with tighter corners and less room for error. It feels like wrestling with the machine as much as the road.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
