Game Overview

War 3010 - The Revolution is one of those SNES strategy games that makes you feel like a rebel commander scrambling to outsmart an alien empire. You start off with a ragtag fleet of stolen Kyllen ships—fighters that zip around the map, slow but brutal destroyers, and everything in between. Each has weirdly specific strengths: some wreck enemies from across the grid but fold up close, others are the opposite. The first time I sent a long-range ship too close to a marauder, well… let’s just say I reloaded.

Battles play out like chess with lasers—you move units on a grid, pick attacks from a menu, and brace for the inevitable counterattack (everything shoots back if it survives). Later, you’ll scavenge tech from planets and capture stations to build new ships, though you lose your fleet after each mission. It’s brutal, but scrambling to adapt with whatever junk you find next keeps the tension high. The pixel-art space battles still look sharp, especially when a lucky shot sends some alien cruiser spinning into the void.
