Creep through pitch-black corridors clicking forward, aiming carefully at zombie limbs—smash their legs first, then finish them off. Each level resets your progress, tossing you into fresh hell with just a rusty knife and your wits.

Wax Works came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Horrorsoft. It was a first-person horror adventure that fit right in with the era's growing appetite for pixelated scares and point-and-click exploration, offering a grimy, tactile experience that felt distinct from the cleaner fantasy titles of the time.
You control a character exploring a cursed wax museum, moving screen by screen through detailed, static environments. The main objective is to survive each themed exhibit, fighting off reanimated wax monsters with a limited arsenal that includes a knife and later a crossbow. Combat requires precise aiming at enemy limbs to disable them efficiently, and resource management is critical since health and ammo are scarce. The pacing is deliberate and often punishing, with levels resetting your progress upon death, which makes every encounter feel tense and consequential. It feels like a desperate, claustrophobic struggle where every shot and every step forward is a hard-won victory.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
