Weird Dreams came out in 1989 from Rainbird Software, a publisher known for some of the more thoughtful and visually distinct titles on MS-DOS. It was a time when developers were really pushing what could be done with the limited color palettes and resolution of the era to create memorable, if sometimes bizarre, worlds. This game definitely fits into that experimental category.

You control a man named Frank, who is trapped inside his own nightmares and must find a way to wake up. The gameplay involves navigating through a series of strange, screen-by-screen environments, solving puzzles and avoiding instant-death traps. You collect items like a slingshot or candy floss to distract enemies, such as giant wasps, rather than engaging in direct combat. The pacing is deliberately slow and methodical, as the high difficulty demands careful observation and trial and error. Playing it feels like cautiously picking your way through a landmine of someone else's subconscious.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
