Game Overview

Welltris came out in 1989 for MS-DOS, developed by Doka. It was one of those games that took a familiar concept and twisted it into something new for the platform, a time when developers were experimenting with perspective and control schemes. It didn't try to replace the original; it just offered a different kind of spatial puzzle.

You control falling blocks, but they descend into a three dimensional pit viewed from the side. Your main objective is to complete solid horizontal lines across any of the pit's four visible walls to make them disappear. The signature mechanics involve rotating the blocks in three dimensions before they land and shifting your viewpoint to see all the walls clearly. The pacing starts deceptively simple, but the added depth quickly complicates your decisions, making the difficulty spike feel more cerebral than frantic. It feels like solving an architectural problem that keeps getting more unstable.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
