Game Overview

Williams Arcade's Greatest Hits on SNES is basically a cheat code for reliving the best parts of the '80s arcade scene. You get four stone-cold classics in one cartridge: Defender, Joust, Robotron: 2084, and Sinistar. One minute you're desperately trying to save astronauts from alien abductions in Defender, the next you're awkwardly flapping around on an ostrich trying to spear knights mid-air in Joust. It's ridiculous in the best way.

The controls feel surprisingly good for an SNES port—Robotron's twin-stick chaos translates better than you'd expect, and Sinistar still manages to creep me out with that gravelly "BEWARE, I LIVE!" warning. These games don't hold your hand, either. You'll die. A lot. But that "one more try" hook is just as strong now as it was when these cabinets ruled arcades. Perfect for when you want raw, unfiltered arcade action without digging for quarters under the couch cushions.
