Play Willow Online
Swing a sword through pixelly forests, grab random magic items that might be useless or game-breaking, and soak in that weirdly hypnotic MS-DOS soundtrack.

Willow came out in 1988 from Mindscape, a time when MS-DOS games were often built on simple, screen-by-screen exploration. It was based on the fantasy film, but it felt more like a hands-on adventure than a direct retelling, fitting right in with other exploratory titles of the era.
You control Willow Ufgood, a Nelwyn farmer turned hero, navigating through forests, caves, and enemy camps. Your main goal is to rescue a baby from an evil queen, which involves finding keys, battling monsters with a sword or bow, and collecting magic acorns that power your spells. The game moves at a deliberate pace, with combat that feels weighty and a difficulty that can spike unexpectedly in later areas. It feels like a personal journey through a dangerous, low-resolution world where every screen could hide a secret or a sudden threat.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
