Game Overview

Wings of Death_DiskA is one of those classic Amiga shooters that feels like it was designed to melt your joystick. You pilot this weird little ship that’s half spaceship, half dragonfly, dodging waves of enemies while the screen slowly fills with bullets. The first level tricks you into thinking it’s manageable—then suddenly you’re weaving through laser grids and praying your power-ups last long enough.

The controls are tight, but the real star is the soundtrack—this crunchy synth wave that kicks in right as things get chaotic. I remember getting stuck on the third boss for days because his attack pattern makes no sense until you realize you’re supposed to shoot his knees, not his face. Classic Amiga jank, but in the best way.

If you’ve got an emulator or dusted off the old hardware, it’s still a blast to play when you want something punishing but fair. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the music at work.
