Game Overview

Wings of Death: DiskB is one of those classic Amiga shooters that feels like it was designed to melt your joystick. You pilot this weird little ship that looks like a cross between a dragonfly and a spaceship, dodging waves of enemies that come at you from all sides. The first level lulls you into thinking it's manageable—then suddenly the screen fills with bullets and you realize you're in for a proper old-school challenge.

The music has that crunchy Amiga synth sound, and the pixel art is surprisingly detailed for its time—especially the bosses, which are these hulking mechanical beasts that take up half the screen. I remember getting stuck on the third level for ages because the hitboxes are just slightly meaner than you'd expect. Still, there's something satisfying about finally nailing the patterns and blasting through a tough section.

If you're into retro shooters that don't hold your hand, this one's a solid time capsule from the Amiga era.
