World Class Leader Board for the Sega Master System came out in 1987, published by U.S. Gold. It was one of the early golf games on the system, arriving at a time when sports simulations were still finding their footing on home consoles.
You control a golfer through a full 18 holes, with the goal of finishing under par. The game uses a three-click swing meter for power and accuracy, and you have to account for wind direction and strength on every shot. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty comes from reading the course and managing your club selection. It feels like a thoughtful, sometimes frustrating, round of pixelated golf where every mistake costs you.
