Game Overview

World Heroes on the Sega Genesis is basically Street Fighter with a weird history class twist. You’ve got Genghis Khan throwing punches, Hulk Hogan doing his wrestling thing, and a ninja who fights like he’s straight out of an 80s action flick. The controls are stiff compared to something like Mortal Kombat, but there’s something charming about how over-the-top it all is—especially when you land a super move and the screen flashes like a fireworks show.

It’s not the deepest fighter out there, but if you’re into bizarre matchups (like Joan of Arc vs. Rasputin), it’s a fun time. Just don’t expect the smoothness of later Neo Geo ports—this one feels a little rough around the edges.
