WWF: WrestleMania 2000 came out for the Game Boy Color in 1999, published by THQ. It was one of the better wrestling games on the handheld, arriving at a time when portable sports titles were often simplified but still tried to capture the feel of their console cousins. The roster had a solid mix of Attitude Era stars, which was a big draw if you were into that scene.
You pick a wrestler and move through side-scrolling stages, fighting opponents one after another. The ring moves with you as you brawl, so positioning is key; you might Irish whip someone into the ropes or hit a running attack from across the screen. The main mode is Championship, where you fight through a bracket with short, silly story segments between matches. There's also a Gauntlet mode for non-stop action. Matches are fast and a little stiff control-wise, but landing a finisher feels satisfying. It captures the chaotic energy of a wrestling match in short bursts.
