Pick a wrestler, then smash dudes in side-scrolling brawls where the ring scrolls with you—positioning matters, so you’ll suplex up close or clothesline from behind. Work through Championship mode with goofy TV-style drama between fights, or survive the Gauntlet’s endless beatdowns.
WWF Wrestlemania 2000 on Game Boy Color is basically the portable little brother of the N64 version—same attitude, just scaled down. You’ve got 16 wrestlers to pick from (Stone Cold’s in there, obviously), and the action plays out in side-scrolling 2D brawls where the ring moves with you. At first, the two-button controls feel weird, but you quickly figure out that where you stand changes what moves you can pull off—clothesline someone from behind, suplex them when you’re face-to-face.
Championship mode’s the real meat of it—you fight your way up to the title with these cheesy but kinda charming TV-style cutscenes in between. There’s also tag team, Survivor Series (where you lose wrestlers one by one), and a brutal Gauntlet mode where you take on everyone back-to-back. Oh, and finishers? You can’t just spam them—each guy has this weird "bio-rhythm" meter, so you’ve gotta time it right or your big move flops.
It’s not as flashy as the N64 version, but hook up a link cable and the two-player matches get stupidly fun, especially in cage matches. Just don’t expect The Rock to look particularly detailed on that tiny screen.
