Xtreme Sports on Game Boy Color is this weirdly charming little sequel to the arcade version, but with an actual plot—which is kind of hilarious for a game about extreme sports. You pick between Fin or Guppi, this couple who get lured into a sketchy competition after seeing an ad for Xtreme Cola (because of course it's sponsored by a soda).

Once you land on the island, things get weird fast. There’s a gang called the Boneheads trying to take over, and the whole place feels off. You’ll skate, surf, and even street luge your way through events, collecting medals and chugging Twitchy Shakes (basically energy drinks that boost your stats). The opponents all have their own specialties, so you’ll have to replay events to beat everyone.

It’s janky in that classic Game Boy Color way, but there’s something oddly addictive about grinding through the same events just to see what the Boneheads are up to. The practice mode is a lifesaver when you keep wiping out on skyboarding.
