Game Overview

XWing Fighter is one of those early Star Wars games that somehow slipped under the radar—probably because it wasn’t an official LucasArts release. But for a DOS game from 1982, it’s not half bad. You’re basically thrown into a pixelated TIE fighter battle with chunky sprites and beepy sound effects, but there’s something weirdly charming about it. The controls are janky by today’s standards (good luck nailing those tight turns), but back then, just seeing an X-wing on your CRT monitor felt like magic.

Don’t go in expecting deep mechanics or a proper campaign—it’s more of a simple arcade-style shooter where you blast through waves of enemies. Still, if you’re into retro gaming curiosities, this one’s a neat little time capsule.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
