Game Overview

21 Card Trick by MOJO Software 1.1 was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a no-frills digital adaptation of the classic magic routine. It ran on the hardware of its day without much fanfare, just a straightforward program doing one thing and doing it with a kind of stubborn charm. The interface was pure text and blocky graphics, typical for the era, but it got the job done.

You don't control a character; you just pick a card from the initial 21 shown on screen. The game then shuffles and deals them into three columns, asking you to identify which pile holds your card. You repeat this process a few times, watching the cards rearrange with a simple animation. The objective is purely to see the trick through to its conclusion, where the program inevitably reveals your chosen card. The pacing is methodical, almost slow, but there's a quiet satisfaction in seeing the logic unfold. It feels like a private magic show on a dim monitor.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
