Game Overview

3D World Tennis on the Amiga was one of those games that tricked you into thinking you were getting a serious sports sim—until you actually played it. The courts looked decent for the time, but the ball physics were hilariously floaty, like you were smacking around a balloon instead of a tennis ball. I remember spending way too much time trying to line up perfect serves, only to watch the ball lazily drift over the net like it had all the time in the world.

Still, there was something weirdly charming about it. The crowd animations were just a few looping sprites, and the players moved like stiff mannequins, but nailing a cross-court shot (even if it defied gravity) felt oddly satisfying. You could tell the devs were trying to push the Amiga’s limits—even if the result was more "arcade-y mess" than Wimbledon.

If you’ve got an Amiga emulator handy, it’s worth a few laughs—just don’t expect anything close to realism.
