Aladdin 3 on NES is one of those licensed games that actually gets the vibe right. You jump across rooftops, dodge guards, and throw apples—simple, but the animations give it charm. The levels feel like they’re ripped straight from the movie, especially the Cave of Wonders with its traps and shifting platforms.

What stands out is how fluid Aladdin moves—he’s quick, but not slippery, and the sword combat has just enough weight to feel satisfying. The bonus rounds with Genie and Abu break up the action, though the Genie’s slot-machine minigame is pure luck. Abu’s section is more fun, scrambling to catch falling treasures while avoiding pots.

It’s not perfect—some enemy placements feel cheap, and the hit detection can be janky. But for a movie tie-in, Aladdin 3 holds up better than most. The Disney animators clearly put care into it.
