Play Alex the Allegator 2 Online

Alex the Allegator 2 starts like Othello until you start shoving entire rows sideways—suddenly you're nudging columns, stealing points from your opponent, and cursing those sneaky gray tiles that ruin everything. That yellow wildcard you get for boxing six tiles? Pure chaos, especially when the AI does its little victory wiggle after a slick move.

Game Overview

Alex the Allegator 2 came out in 2001 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Free Lunch Design AB. It was a time when puzzle games often had simple graphics but demanded real strategy, and this one fit right in with that no-nonsense approach.

You control Alex, an alligator, sliding rows and columns of colored tiles to match three or more in a row. The goal is to outscore your opponent by creating combos and setting off chain reactions. Key mechanics include the wildcard tile, earned by boxing in six tiles, which can turn the match in an instant, and the sneaky gray tiles that block your moves and force you to rethink your approach. Matches move quickly, and the AI can be surprisingly sharp, making each win feel earned. It feels like a tense, back-and-forth battle where one clever move can completely shift the momentum.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
