Play Alien Breed: Tower Assault Online
Navigate a maze-like tower, fend off aliens, find keycards, and manage limited resources with a friend in this top-down shooter from 1994.
Team17 released Alien Breed: Tower Assault in 1994 for MS-DOS, a time when top-down shooters were a staple of PC gaming. It was the third game in the series and expanded on the formula with a larger, more interconnected structure. You and a friend, if playing cooperatively, are space marines responding to a distress call, only to find a massive research tower completely overrun.
You control a lone marine, or two in co-op, navigating the tower's maze-like floors screen by screen. Your main objective is to reactivate the facility's systems by finding keycards and completing objectives, all while fending off relentless alien attacks. Signature mechanics include managing a limited inventory for weapons, health, and ammo, and using a door welding tool to temporarily seal off areas and control the enemy flow. The pacing is tense and deliberate; you are almost always low on resources, making every encounter a calculated risk. It feels like a desperate, methodical fight for survival where a single mistake can mean a quick death.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
