Game Overview

Animal Math was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though its original developer or publisher is not widely documented. It belongs to that era of early educational software where simple graphics and straightforward goals were common, designed to run on the home computers of the late 80s or early 90s.

You guide a small animal character, like a fox or a bear, through basic arithmetic problems presented as playful tasks; for example, you might count how many apples are in a tree or distribute fish equally between two hungry creatures. The main objective is to solve these number puzzles to progress, using the keyboard to input answers. The mechanics are simple: you read the problem on screen, type your solution, and receive feedback through visual rewards or gentle corrections. The pacing is relaxed, suited for younger players, with difficulty that scales gradually through addition, subtraction, and sometimes multiplication. It feels like a low pressure way to practice math without the usual classroom pressure.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
