Play Arkanoid Amiga Online
1986 action game where players control a Vaus spaceship to deflect an energy bolt, breaking brick walls. Features power-ups like lasers, catch devices, and speed modifiers. Released for Amiga.

I first played Arkanoid on the Amiga in 1986, a version developed by Taito and published by Ocean Software. It arrived at a time when the Amiga was showing what home computers could really do with graphics and sound, and this port stood out for its sharp visuals and smooth play. It wasn't the first brick breaker, but it felt like one of the most polished.
You control a small paddle ship called the Vaus, moving it left and right to bounce a ball into walls of colorful bricks. The goal is simple: clear every brick on each stage to advance. The real hook comes from the power-ups that drop from broken bricks; you might grab a laser to shoot bricks directly, a catch beam to hold the ball for a better shot, or a multiplier to split the ball into three. The pace is quick, and the difficulty ramps up steadily as the brick patterns get more complex and the ball speeds up. It feels satisfying to watch the screen clear, shot by shot, with that distinctive crackling sound of breaking blocks.
