Play Arrakis Online
You juggle water and spice while dodging sandworms and Harkonnen raids—it’s all about desperate survival moves on a brutal desert chessboard. That clunky '92 interface grows on you once you start outsmarting the AI’s nasty surprises.

Game Overview
Arrakis is one of those MS-DOS games that somehow slipped under the radar, which is a shame because it nails that tense, sand-blasted vibe of Frank Herbert’s Dune universe. You start off scrambling to manage water (of course) and spice, trying not to get ambushed by Harkonnen wannabes or swallowed by a sandworm. The interface feels clunky at first—this is 1992, after all—but once you get the hang of moving units and balancing supplies, it clicks.
What surprised me was how much it feels like a board game. You’re shuffling troops between territories, bluffing, and occasionally praying to the desert gods when a storm wipes out half your army. The AI isn’t pushover either—expect some brutal early losses until you figure out the rhythm. No fancy cutscenes, just a stark, sun-bleached map and your own terrible decisions. Perfect for when you want strategy that doesn’t hold your hand.
Still holds up if you’ve got the patience for pixelated nostalgia and a soundtrack that sounds like a synthwave mirage.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
