Asterix and the Great Rescue came out for the Sega Master System in 1993, developed by Sega and published by themselves. It was one of the later platformers on the system, arriving as the 16-bit era was already in full swing, but it offered a solid, colorful adventure based on the popular comic series.

You control Asterix through a series of side-scrolling levels, punching and kicking Roman soldiers while searching for keys to unlock doors and free captured villagers.
