Game Overview

I first came across AUTS: The Ultimate Stress Relief Game back in 1998, when it was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection. It was published by Psygnosis, and it fit right in with the era's experimental, low-fi PC titles. The game didn't try to be epic or profound; it was just a simple, cathartic distraction from the usual platformers and strategy games of the time.

You control a small, nondescript character in a series of sparse rooms. Your only goal is to break everything in sight. You pick up chairs, monitors, and other office items, then throw them at windows and walls with exaggerated, almost floaty physics. Glass shatters into big, blocky fragments, and objects bounce and clatter satisfyingly. There's no health bar, no enemies, and no time limit; you just move from one screen to the next causing as much destruction as you can. The pacing is immediate and repetitive, but that's the point. It feels like a harmless, digital tantrum.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
