Axe of Rage came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Atari Corporation. It was a time when dungeon crawlers were plentiful, often built on simple mechanics and a lot of repetition. This one fit right in, offering a straightforward quest without much pretense or polish.

You control a lone warrior navigating a maze-like dungeon, screen by screen, with the goal of defeating an evil wizard. The primary actions involve swinging your axe at skeletons and other monsters, collecting keys to open doors, and hunting for the exit to each level. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
