Balloon Fight GB came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by Pax Softnica and published by Nintendo. You control a character with two balloons, floating through single-screen stages filled with enemies who also carry balloons. The goal is to pop enemy balloons by landing on their heads, which sends them falling; if they land in water, they're gone for good. You have to avoid hazards like electric sparks and birds that fly in from the sides, all while managing your own balloon height with careful button taps. The game moves at a steady pace, but the stages get tricky quickly as enemy numbers and obstacles increase. It feels light and bouncy, a simple concept that stays engaging through its sharp controls and constant minor threats.
