Game Overview

Batman on the NES came out in 1989, developed by Sunsoft. It was one of the many licensed games from that era, but it stood out because it actually tried to capture the feel of the movie it was based on. The graphics were sharp for the time, with detailed sprites and backgrounds that gave Gotham a dark, moody look.

You control Batman through five stages, moving screen by screen, punching and kicking thugs, and using a limited supply of Batarangs and a wall-grab move to navigate. The objective is to fight through each level, defeat the boss, and eventually take down the Joker. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is high, especially in later stages where precise jumps and quick reactions are essential. It feels tense and demanding, but beating a tough section gives a real sense of accomplishment.
