Beats of Rage (BOR) is basically a love letter to old-school beat 'em ups—especially Streets of Rage 2. It runs on this open-source engine that lets people mod the heck out of it, swapping in characters from stuff like King of Fighters or whatever else they feel like. Feels janky in that nostalgic MS-DOS way, though—don’t expect buttery smooth animations here.

You’ll recognize the side-scrolling brawler vibe immediately: punch goons, grab weapons, clear waves of enemies. The moveset’s simple but satisfying, and the pixel art has that chunky, early ‘90s charm. Just a heads-up—this version’s labeled as a test build, so expect some slowdowns. Still, if you miss the days of arcade cabinets and Sega Genesis soundtracks, it’s a fun little time capsule.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
