Bible Adventures came out in 1991 for the NES, published by Wisdom Tree. It was part of that wave of unlicensed, religious-themed games that tried to carve out a niche on the console, often sold in bookstores instead of regular game shops. You control different biblical characters like Noah, Moses, and David, each with their own set of levels. The main goal changes per story; Noah collects animals two by one, Moses carries a baby in a basket through enemy-filled streets, and David hunts for specific items to bring back. The signature mechanics involve a lot of carrying objects, jumping across awkward gaps, and navigating screen by screen. The pacing is slow, the physics are unpredictable, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly from one moment to the next. Playing it feels like wrestling with a strange, earnest experiment that never quite figured itself out.
