Bionicle Heroes on the Nintendo DS came out in 2006, developed by Traveller's Tales. It was part of that wave of licensed games on the handheld, where you'd often find action titles built around popular toy lines or movies. The DS had a lot of experimental control schemes, and this one tried to make good use of the touch screen.
You control a Toa hero, switching between six elemental forms like fire, ice, and stone to defeat waves of robotic enemies. The main goal is to progress through levels, clearing screens of foes and occasionally facing larger boss characters. Combat relies heavily on stylus tapping for attacks and swiping for special moves, while exploration involves finding collectibles and activating switches. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though some later encounters demand quick elemental swaps. It feels like a straightforward arcade shooter built for short bursts of play.
