Game Overview

Bionicle: Matoran Adventures is one of those GBA games that feels way bigger than it should be. You play as two Matoran—Kongu and Taipu—switching between them on the fly to solve puzzles and fight through six surprisingly varied levels. Kongu’s got a sweet boomerang, Taipu can smash rocks with his hammer, and figuring out when to swap them is half the fun.

The Bahrag are wrecking Mata Nui, and it’s your job to stop them, which mostly involves platforming through jungles, lava caves, and some genuinely clever environmental puzzles. The Lego Bionicle vibe is strong here—if you ever messed with those toys as a kid, the nostalgia hits hard. Just don’t expect a cakewalk; some of those later levels get pretty mean with the platforming.

It’s not perfect (the camera’s a little stiff), but for a GBA tie-in game, it’s way more polished than it had any right to be. You’ll probably finish it in an afternoon, but it’s a solid one.
