Bionicle: Matoran Adventures came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Saffire. You control two Matoran, Kongu and Taipu, switching between them to use their unique weapons: a boomerang and a hammer. The goal is to fight through levels, defeat the Bohrok swarms, and ultimately face the twin Bahrag queens. The gameplay involves a lot of screen-by-screen exploration, breaking open containers for health and ammo, and solving simple puzzles that require swapping characters to progress. The platforming can be a bit unforgiving, with precise jumps needed over bottomless pits and lava flows. It feels like a straightforward, sometimes challenging run-and-smash adventure that captures the simple fun of its era.
