Play The Adventures of Mighty Max Online

I picked up The Adventures of Mighty Max on the Sega Genesis back in 1994, a game developed by Ocean Software. It was part of that wave of licensed platformers, based on the little toys with the snap shut cases. You controlled this kid, Max, who had to hop between different worlds through these portals to stop the villain, Skull Master.

You guide Max through side scrolling levels, jumping across platforms and fighting enemies with a simple slash of your sword. The main goal is to find and destroy the doomsday devices in each stage before a timer runs out. You also collect keys to open doors and gather health items to stay alive. The pacing is pretty relentless, with enemies constantly spawning and the clock always ticking down. It feels frantic, like you're always one mistake away from starting over.
