Game Overview

Black Knight: Marine Strike Fighter is one of those mid-90s flight sims that somehow nailed the balance between realism and actually being fun. You're in an F/A-18 Hornet, which means you get all the satisfying clicks and whirs of a digital cockpit, but without drowning in endless technical menus. The first time I played, I botched the landing so badly the instructor voice sounded personally disappointed in me.

There’s a surprising amount to do here—50 combat missions, training drills that actually teach you something, and even a free-flight mode just for buzzing around. The mission creator is weirdly robust for a '95 game; I once made a scenario where I had to intercept a rogue blimp, because why not? And yeah, the shareware version locks some stuff, but the full game’s worth it if you’re into that classic naval aviation vibe. Dogfights feel tense, precision strikes require actual planning, and the flight recorder lets you watch your disasters from every angle.

It’s not the fanciest sim out there, but it’s got charm and just enough depth to keep you coming back. Perfect for when you want to feel like a Top Gun pilot without needing a PhD in aerodynamics.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
