Block Hole is a 1990 arcade game from an unknown developer, a product of its time when puzzle games were fighting for attention in crowded arcades. It doesn't have the name recognition of some contemporaries, but it has a distinct, almost aggressive presence on the cabinet screen.
You control a cursor that rotates a central block, trying to align falling colored blocks into complete rows before they pile up too high. The main objective is survival; clear the screen, earn points, and don't let the stack reach the top. Its signature mechanics include a rotation system that affects multiple blocks at once and occasional power-ups that can either wipe out several rows or, disastrously, add more junk to the pile. The pacing is brutally quick, demanding fast decisions that often lead to a cascade of mistakes. It feels like trying to solve a collapsing building while someone keeps throwing more bricks at you.
