Play Blues Brothers Online
Play as Jake or Elwood in this janky-but-lovable platformer—dodge cops, wreck stuff, and chase redemption points while the Game Boy wheezes out bluesy tunes. It’s messy, but in that way your favorite beat-up arcade cab is.

I picked up Blues Brothers for the Game Boy back in 1992, a licensed title from Titus Interactive. It was one of those games you'd see on the shelf next to a dozen other movie tie-ins, a simple side-scroller trying to capture the spirit of the films on a tiny green screen. The hardware limitations were obvious, but it had a certain charm, a straightforward goal amidst the sea of more complex adventures on the system.
You control either Jake or Elwood Blues, running and jumping through city streets, shopping malls, and other urban environments. Your main objective is to wreck as much property as possible to earn points, all while dodging a relentless parade of police cars, SWAT teams, and other enemies. The core mechanics involve smashing everything in your path, from mailboxes to parked cars, and collecting microphones that serve as your health and ammunition for throwing records. The pacing is frantic, the difficulty is unforgiving, and the collision detection can feel a bit loose, but pushing through the chaos to cause maximum destruction is a simple, satisfying kind of fun.
