Bubble Blob is one of those weirdly satisfying MS-DOS games that shouldn’t be as tricky as it is. You’re this squishy little blob trying to bounce around popping bubbles—except the controls are just slippery enough to make every jump feel like a gamble. Miss a platform? Congrats, you’re now falling into the abyss while some floating eyeball thing laughs at you.
The pixel art has that perfect early ‘90s charm, all bright colors and chunky sprites. I kept getting distracted by how the blob jiggles when it lands. At first, I thought it’d be a mindless time-waster, but by level 3, I was fully invested in figuring out the exact millisecond to leap between moving platforms. It’s got that same "how is this so hard?!" vibe as Bubble Bobble, but with more blob physics.
Honestly, it’s a crime more people don’t talk about this one. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro games that don’t hold your hand, give it a shot—just don’t blame me when you’re stuck on the same screen for 20 minutes.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
