Game Overview

Bush Buck - Global Treasure Hunter came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Sierra On-Line. It was a product of its time, a straightforward action-adventure that fit right in with the era's pixelated graphics and simple, direct gameplay. You don't get a lot of hand-holding or complex backstory; it just drops you into the jungle and expects you to figure things out.

You control Bush Buck, a treasure hunter racing against a rival to collect pieces of a golden monkey idol scattered across the globe. The game progresses screen by screen, with each new area presenting environmental puzzles and deadly traps like falling rocks, spike pits, and collapsing floors. You use a whip to swing over gaps and fend off animals, but the real challenge is timing your movements to avoid instant death scenarios. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving, with mistakes sending you back to the start of a stage. It feels like a tense, methodical dash where every step requires your full attention.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
