California Games II is that classic Amiga sequel where you get to wipe out in five different extreme sports instead of just one. Hang-gliding feels weirdly floaty at first until you figure out the thermals, and the jet ski section has this hilarious way of flipping you headfirst into the water if you hit a wave wrong. The pixelated skateboarder somehow nails that awkward '80s vert ramp vibe, and snowboarding... well, let's just say it's more about surviving the physics than looking cool.
It's janky in that way only late '80s sports games can be, but there's something weirdly satisfying about finally nailing a trick after faceplanting ten times in a row. The soundtrack's pure synth cheese too—you'll be humming it for days.
