Captain America & the Avengers came out on the NES in 1991 from Data East. It was part of that wave of comic book games that tried to capture the feel of the arcade at home. You got to play as these heroes, which was a pretty big deal back then, even if the translation to the console wasn't always perfect.

You control one of four Avengers, like Captain America or Iron Man, and you move screen by screen, punching and shooting through endless enemies. The main goal is to stop Red Skull, so you fight through city streets, inside buildings, and even take to the skies in some shooter sections. You collect power-ups for your special weapons, and the game is pretty relentless with enemy spawns, making it a tough two-player co-op experience. It feels like a chaotic brawl where you're constantly managing your health and trying to cover your partner.
