Game Overview

Champ, The is one of those Amiga games that feels like it was made in someone’s basement—in the best way possible. You’re thrown into this weird, blocky world where you control a little dude who has to punch, kick, and jump his way through waves of enemies. The controls are janky, but in that nostalgic "figure it out or die trying" kind of way.

At first, I kept getting wrecked by the second enemy because the hitboxes are… let’s say "generous." But once you get the timing down, there’s something weirdly satisfying about landing a pixel-perfect uppercut. The music loops endlessly, and after a while, it either drills into your brain or becomes weirdly comforting.

It’s not deep, but it’s the kind of game you fire up when you just want to mash buttons for 20 minutes. The Amiga had weirder games, but this one sticks in my head for some reason.
