Game Overview

Chicago 90 is a 1989 MS-DOS game from Microids that puts you right in the middle of a high speed police chase. It came out during a time when top down arcade style action was common on home computers, and it fits right in with that straightforward, no frills approach to gameplay.

You control either a fleeing criminal or a pursuing police car, weaving through traffic and trying to outmaneuver your opponent across a grid of city streets. The main goal is simple: if you're the cop, you must ram the criminal's car to end the chase; if you're the fugitive, you just have to survive until the timer runs out. Key mechanics include navigating a connected map screen by screen, managing your vehicle's damage, and using obstacles to block or trap the other driver. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty comes from the tight streets and unpredictable traffic. It feels like a tense game of cat and mouse where one wrong turn can end everything.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
