Contra on GB is basically the arcade classic squeezed into a tiny Game Boy cartridge—and somehow, it still works. Yeah, the graphics are simpler, and you lose the two-player madness, but the moment you start blasting through alien soldiers and dodging bullets, it feels like the same chaotic Contra you remember. The controls are surprisingly tight for a handheld port, though good luck surviving past the third level without the Konami Code (seriously, just use it).

It’s got that perfect mix of "I can totally do this" and "why did I just die again?" energy. The levels are shorter but still packed with enough explosions and weird alien bosses to feel satisfying. If you’ve got a Game Boy and a soft spot for run-and-gun chaos, this one’s a no-brainer.
