Game Overview

I first played Crazy Drake back in the late 90s, a 1996 release from MS-DOS Classic Games by One Reality. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home among the pixelated adventures of the era, not trying to reinvent the wheel but offering a solid, straightforward experience.

You control Prince Drake, a character who runs, jumps, and shoots his way through a series of nonlinear levels. The main goal is to recover the pieces of the stolen GoldenEgg by defeating enemies and exploring each stage thoroughly. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, with many hidden passages requiring careful jumps or well-aimed shots to uncover, and a simple but responsive combat system where timing your attacks matters. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later stages, especially with some tricky enemy patterns. It feels satisfying to master the movement and discover its secrets.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
