If you ever played Dungeon Master back in the day, Crystal Dragon will feel instantly familiar—but with its own little twists. You control two adventurers (no full party here) hunting down a rogue wizard who’s basically gone full supervillain with some ancient crystal artifact. The setup’s simple: stop him before he figures out how to turn it into a doomsday device.

What I like is how it doesn’t waste time—you’re thrown right into dimly lit corridors, shuffling inventory between your duo, and figuring out which weird potion does what. The wizard’s minions are everywhere, and combat’s that satisfying mix of real-time and tactical pausing. Just don’t expect mercy if you bungle a spell combo.

It’s very much an Amiga game of its era—clunky by today’s standards, but there’s charm in how unapologetically brutal it can be. You’ll either love it or rage-quit after the third skeleton ambush.
