I picked up Daffy Duck, P.I. - The Case of the Missing Letters back in the day, a 1991 MS-DOS release from Terraglyph Interactive Studios. It was one of those early point and click adventures that tried to capture the spirit of classic cartoons, a genre that was still finding its footing on home computers. You could tell it was aiming for that LucasArts charm but with a much lower budget and a lot more slapstick.

You control Daffy Duck, a down on his luck private investigator, as you click around various screens to gather clues and interrogate a cast of suspicious characters. The main goal is to solve the mystery by finding the missing letters, which involves a lot of inventory puzzles and dialogue trees. The game relies heavily on word based puzzles and object combination, and the pacing is deliberately slow, almost methodical. It feels like wrestling with a stubborn, sarcastic duck who would rather be anywhere else.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
