Game Overview

Daikaijuu Deburas was a Japan only release for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Bandai. It arrived during a time when the console was flooded with games capitalizing on popular movie and toy licenses, offering a straightforward take on the kaiju genre.

You control a giant monster, moving left and right across a cityscape to destroy everything in your path. Your main objective is to simply level the city before a timer runs out, stomping on tanks, swatting helicopters from the sky, and punching through skyscrapers. The game uses a life bar that depletes as you take fire from military forces, and you must occasionally eat civilians or soldiers to regain health. The pacing is relentless and the difficulty comes from the constant barrage of enemy attacks. It feels like a cathartic, if slightly repetitive, exercise in pure destruction.
