Game Overview

Dangerous Dave 3: Risky Rescue came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games library, developed by John Romero and published by Softdisk. It arrived during a time when platformers were plentiful, and it fit right in with the straightforward, screen-by-screen action common on the platform.

You control Dave, a small character navigating through a series of themed levels, each composed of discrete screens you move between. Your main goal is to rescue your brother, which involves collecting keys to unlock doors, gathering treasure, and avoiding or defeating enemies with your limited weaponry. The game relies on careful jumps, timing your attacks, and memorizing enemy patterns to progress. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with instant deaths from falls or enemy contact keeping you on edge. Playing it feels like a tense, methodical puzzle where every move counts.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
